5 TIPS TO HELP YOU LOSE FAT, BUILD MUSCLE, and FEEL GOOD!

 

Hey there warriors!

Today is September 1st. That is a wonderful thing for a few reasons. 

Typically the first of a month will represent a rebirth, the old is gone and the new is here.... This is your chance to BEGIN fresh.....

Being that it is SEPTEMBER 1st....It is the LAST month of the 3rd quarter of the year.... which means that THERE IS A LOT OF TIME LEFT to make 2016 your HEALTHIEST year yet.

You can elicit a TON of change in 4 months.... 17 WEEKS.... If you were to dial in on your health these last 4 months, you could healthily lose up to 35 lbs. You could pack on some SOLID muscle, and you could alleviate plenty of health issues or emotional issues by gaining structure and consistency in your life.

4 months goes fast, but in a measurement of training...you can create a lot of change.

Being that you have this OPPORTUNITY in front of you, I wanted to give you 5 tips to help you take control!

5 TIPS TO HELP YOU LOSE FAT, BUILD MUSCLE, and FEEL GOOD:

  1.  START.
    1. This is probably the most important and underutilized tip that anyone ever follows. It happens so often that people will say "I wish I could lose weight." or "I'll start when I _____" But heres a heads up! THE TIME IS NEVER "perfect". We all come up with these reasons that we "can't" do something....but there is no real reason we can't.... it is not a matter of can or can't, it is a will or a won't.

      If you have time for Netflix, Social Media, or Video Games....you have time to exercise and eat better....

      If you go out to eat at a restaurant, you have the SAME opportunity to order a Salmon, chicken, or steak dish with a side of BROCCOLI, as you do a chicken fried steak and gravy.

      You don't need to be GREAT to start, but you need to START to be great. Don't put it off... it only  put's off your happiness and results.
  2. LIFT WEIGHTS
    1. Science shows over and over again that have greater LEAN muscle mass increases your fat loss (the more muscle you can utilize, the more energy you can expend), and it improves your RESTING METABOLIC RATE (a stronger body, produces a greater energy output, which means your body uses more calories to produce its energy)

      Most people skip this process because they fear getting bulky or getting hurt...but with a smart program and a qualified coach you won't get hurt. Bulk is produced by genetics and nutrition....PLUS most "BULKY" people  work hard to attain that bulk....you aren't going to get bulky by eating yoru salad and training in a well balanced program 4 days per week. 
  3. MAKE GRADUAL CHANGES
    1. Often times...and when I say often times I mean NEARLY ALL OF THE TIME when people make a decision to change something they try to CHANGE EVERYTHING at once. This is human nature, but if you understand the process of change, it is not ideal or realistic. 

      If you try to change everything, you most likely will burn out and get sick of the drastic change...which will often times throw you even further away from your goals.

      If you DO happen change everything at once, and you do happen to sustain it....it becomes harder to break plateaus....as you have less habits you can break.

      By focusing on a few tasks, you can then create those tasks to be new habits and it is much more sustainable long term, and you ALWAYS have somewhere to improve upon.

      Constant improvement is the key to SUCCESS in ANYTHING!
  4. LIFT WEIGHTS BUT DON'T NEGLECT YOUR CONDITIONING (cardio)
    1. great program will be a well balanced mix of strength training, cardio work, and movement work. If all you do is lift weights your muscle gains will eventually begin to regress and plateau as you won't recover optimally.
    2. If all you do is cardio, you will most likely burn off a lot of your lean mass and become what the world knows as "skinny fat" where you lack the shape you are after, and the feeling of strength. Strong is sexy people, your favorite "goal picture" of that woman or man on the magazine didn't get their body from only running on a treadmill.
  5. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
    1. If you only hang out with people that frequent bars, video games, and fast food....chances are that is going to be your lifestyle. I am not saying to ditch your childhood friends...but make sure the people that you are around and talk to most are people that care about your success, and are chasing the same thing.

      Friends that want to go on hikes instead of playing call of duty....Friends that say "Le'ts have a dinner night" where you prepare a healthy meal together vs "Let's go  get drinks and pizza." Find friends at your local gym, or join one that will support your and help you develop those friendships! 


       

You DESERVE to be healthy, and if you are reading this blog, I know you DESIRE to be healthy. So make the step to change it. It is not a matter of can you but will you.
